ZO Kraft is a design and build workshop established in 2019 by Andrei Pripasu (architect) and Ionuț Toma (visual artist). Our wish to experiment with materials and skills has brought us to furniture, where the path from concept to a final object is fast and everything happens at a controllable scale. We like that our work is physically demanding and anchored to reality. It is often the case that an object aquires a final shape as we make it. We work with wood, metal, ceramics, using a combination of modern and traditional techniques. We strive towards simple geometries and a logical juxtaposition of distinct materials.
The name brings together two words: the Greek ζω ("I live"), and the German Kraft ("force, vigour").
